July 31st (my birthday)
We left SanFrancisco early in the morning, drove across the Golden Bridge in the fog. We went to visit Dominican University, where Syl's aunt Mary used to teach as a nun.
Down the street is the Seeing Eye dog program. The cutest puppies we saw!
Napa! Wine for my birthday! Tour at Robert Mondavi winery.

San Francisco Day 3
Wed July 30th
It became our tradition to watch a baseball game around my birthday. AT&T Park. One of the most gorgeous baseball field.
Giants vs Pirates
We walked to Chinatown afterwards from the game, and had a nice authentic meal at Z & Y the SiChuan style restaurant there. There is about 20 minutes waiting time at lunch hour, but food is authentic and delicious. Highly recommended!

San Francisco Day 1, 2
Monday July 28th, 2014
These couple of years summer vacation, we always leave right before my birthday. I feel lucky to be somewhere on vacation on my birthday. It just make it special for me.
This year we're heading to San Francisco. Believe it or not, I've been in the States for 14 years and have not gone to the west coast yet. It's exciting for me, especially the first stop on west coast is going to be the beautiful San Fran.
Here we come, Cali!
We always travel Gypsy style. No hotel reservation. We rent a car after arrival and drive where we go and find a motel under our budget. Belmont, a town next to San Francisco is where we found our motel. Motel 6, nice and clean. Only complaint Michael had was that they obviously don't offer breakfast.
Tues July 29
Driving from Belmont to San Fran in the morning was really not bad. We easily found Mission Dolores, the oldest building in the city. Built in 1776 by Franciscan missionaries who set out to convert and colonize the local Ohlone natives.
Next we headed to Haight Ashbury.
Breakfast at this little Crepe Express place.
Drove down the famous Lombard Street.
Got on top of Coit Tower overlooking the city and the Gold Bridge.
Alcatraz! Who knew that the tour was all sold out till the end of August! So if you plan to go in summer, better to make reservation ahead of time!
We head over to Fishmen's Warf.
Dinner at Franciscan Crab Restaurant with the view of Alcatraz out of the window. Had a fresh yummy crabs!
